idealworks Celebrates Its First Anniversary

November, 2021

Following a successful first year, idealworks celebrated its one-year anniversary on Saturday, November 20, 2021. Dedicated to accelerating intralogistics processes of companies across the automotive sector and beyond, the pioneering provider for innovative logistics solutions has been a game changer in the industry right from the start, adding substantial value for businesses worldwide.

Since its launch in fall last year, idealworks has advanced its market positioning, doubled its workforce, was acknowledged with the prestigious IFOY AWARD for its hardware product, and has carried out a large number of implementations: As a new deep-tech company leveraging years of BMW Group expertise, the rapidly growing technology startup has hence not only written a remarkable story of innovation and growth, boasting a reliable track record, rather it has demonstrated the crucial role it plays in the continuing development and success of businesses’ logistics processes and their competitiveness.

With Zalando SE, DRÄXLMAIER Group, MANN+HUMMEL, syncreon, BHS Corrugated, and Geis Group, to name but a few, idealworks welcomed an extensive number of additional clients. Constituting a broad portfolio of technology leaders whom the company helps optimize processes in intralogistics, expectations for the number of customers to be acquired within the first year were even exceeded.

Offering a holistic but tailored solutions portfolio consisting of hardware, software, and services, this approach does not only cover a wide range of individual customer needs serving a plethora of use cases and responding flexibly to different requirements, it also clearly has set idealworks apart from its competitors.

The company’s success is very much a team effort: “Our staff, partners, suppliers, and customers as well as the wider business community have been outstanding, and we will continue to grow, innovate, and develop together. We look forward to entering into further valuable partnerships down the road as well as growing with the ones we have already established,” notes Michael Alexander Schneider, idealworks’ CEO.

Jürgen Eder, Senior Vice President Production Network & Logistics at BMW Group, confirms: “Over the last year, we’ve been looking with favor on idealworks as an independent company. As a digital enabler for future solutions in intralogistics offering a highly flexible product portfolio, idealworks proves that logistics is a space right for innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.”

While the logistics industry has changed tremendously over the last ten years, idealworks has been taking a major part in its continuing development and success. Having come about as a result of a forward-thinking planning condition within the BMW Group’s Logistics department, the wholly owned BMW Group spinoff combines numerous years of valuable experience and expertise in the field. With the VDA 5050-compliant, cloud-based fleet management software AnyFleet and the autonomous mobile robot iw.hub which is powered by the control unit iw.brain, idealworks is well positioned with some of the most future-oriented, all-in-one intralogistics solutions on the market. Fast forward a year after its official foundation, it has carved out its niche in the industry through successful collaborations.

For 2022, idealworks plans to intensify cooperation with existing clients and to expand its workforce along with the rising number of customers. The company aims to reinforce its focus on the establishment of a future-proof robotics ecosystem, helping drive the autonomization of modern factories.
