idealworks Showcases Product Innovation at LogiMAT 2022

May, 2022

No distance too far, no conveyor belt too high: To significantly expand the range of applications of the autonomous mobile robot (AMR) iw.hub, idealworks is launching Pallet Dock and Pallet Extension. The product innovation will be presented for the first time to the wider public at LogiMAT 2022.

The Pallet Dock as a handling station in combination with the Pallet Extension as an attachment for the iw.hub enables the AMR to independently pick up and deliver pallets and pallet cages, without the need for dollies. The ‘docking’ stations, which are just over a meter wide, 1.6 meters long, and only about 30 centimeters high, are delivered to their respective areas of application in one piece and only need to be firmly attached to the floor before they are being used for the first time. Correspondingly, the setup is quick and does not affect the already short implementation time. If required, the pick-up and delivery station can also be integrated directly to existing conveyor belts.

Despite the accessory, the maximum weight for transporting goods remains unchanged: The robust design of the Pallet Extension ensures that the iw.hub can pick up pallets and pallet cages safely, efficiently, and completely autonomously, transporting payloads of up to 1,000 kg to their respective destination. Reflectors installed on the Pallet Dock help the AMR recognize the station and assume its position autonomously. Designed for permanent loading, the Pallet Dock then compensates for the existing height difference. The product innovation is suitable for all applications that do not rely on dollies and predominantly use forklifts.

The implementation of the AMR iw.hub and cloud platform AnyFleet together with the Pallet Dock still does not require any structural adjustments to the existing facility: markers, magnets or QR codes used by other systems are not required. Instead, the system navigates autonomously using SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) navigation technology.

“For some months now, a large number of pallet docks have been successfully in use at Geis Group in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt/Main. The expansion of our product portfolio opens up new possibilities for us. We can now respond even more flexibly to the needs of potential customers and are able to tap additional use cases,” adds idealworks’ CEO Michael Schneider.

With the Pallet Dock and Pallet Extension, the BMW Group spinoff is launching an important accessory to increasingly expand the iw.hub’s area of application and to support more companies in automating their internal goods transport. During LogiMAT 2022, idealworks will exhibit its product portfolio from May 31, 2022 until June 2, 2022 in hall 2 at booth A15.
